The One Defining Feature That Sets Highly Effective People Apart
Highly effective know to concentrate their efforts where it matters most. When discovering what activity matters most to you, first ask yourself this one question.
How do highly effective people discern themselves from those that are not so highly effective with regard to results?
We all are given 24 hours in a single day—no more and no less. So how is it that some of us get more done than others?
Well, the simple truth is that highly effective people concentrate their efforts on the most important activities. Gary Keller captures a defining question perfectly in his book with Jay Papasan, “The One Thing”: What’s the one thing that I could to make everything else either easier or unnecessary?
In your more introspective moments, this is the one question I encourage you to ask yourself in regard to your life, your family, your business, or the personal side of your life.
What’s the one thing that I could to make everything else either easier or unnecessary?
By doing this, you’ll be able to do some self-discovery and make a determination on the one thing in your life that makes everything else seem unnecessary. Once you’ve pinpointed that one thing, you can take it to the highest level possible.
If the focal point is your business, for example, you might give greater emphasis to lead generation or conversion. None of this is to say you’ll have just one aim in your life from here on out; it simply means that vast improvement in this area will make other things seem small by comparison, which, in turn, will make your life easier.
