Hacking Your Mind for Success
Today I’d like to discuss the pathway to success, and what you can do to be sure that you’re on it.
Many of us think that the pathway to success is summed up by the actions we take or the activities we participate in.
That’s partly true, but today I want to talk about a bigger picture—how our subconscious feeds into our conscious actions and how we are able to program ourselves for success by moving thought into action.
Here are the steps on the pathway to pay attention to:
Our mental programming leads to our thoughts
Our thoughts lead to our feelings
Those feelings lead to our actions
Our actions lead to our results
Our results feed back into our programming
Psychologists utilize this pattern to understand how our behaviors relate to one another. For example, if we have poor programming, then we’ll have poor thoughts, which leads to poor feelings. If we have poor feelings, then we’ll feel like crud, and as a result, we’ll take actions that will produce cruddy results.
On the other hand, if you have good programming, then that will lead to good thoughts, which subsequently inform good feelings, actions, and, ultimately, good results.
The reason why I mention all this to you is that as we consider the pathways to success, the key is to hack your own mental programming. That’s how you can really make a difference in the cycle and lead yourself to bigger and better things.
How does one hack their own programming? Participate in healthy, mindful activities that empower your brain: Things like reading, meditating, and exercising can do wonders for changing your mentality and set you up for success.
