The Reasons Most Agents Fail in Real Estate
Why do most agents fail in the real estate business? Basically, it comes down to three reasons. Either they don’t have goals, they don’t have a “why” that they are working towards, or they don’t have a schedule. I’m going to go through each of these pitfalls and show you how to do things the right way.
When it comes to goals, writing them down makes you much more likely to reach them. I encourage you to get out a little notepad or open the notes app on your phone so that you have it with you every day and you can reference the notes from time to time. Physically writing them down will also help you internalize them more easily.
Now, let’s talk about your “why.” Why are you doing what you are doing? I do what I do because I want to build my mom a house. She’s aging and I want to be able to take care of her. Looking at it from an even bigger picture, I want to open doorways for others to achieve their goals and success. What do you want?
Finally, the schedule. Having one and sticking to it is one of the biggest challenges that agents have. I understand that there are exceptions to the rules, but you need to follow a schedule at all times as a professional. Set aside some time for listing appointments each week instead of dropping everything for them when they come in.
